Does Mouse Records distribute overseas independent releases in Singapore?
Yes, we do. Please contact us with details.
Can Mouse Records get my band/me a gig?
No promise. But please send your demo, previous performance video clips (if any), bio and photo to us. Overseas acts are welcome too.
What is Music Publishing? Does Mouse Records provide music publishing service? How much does it cost?
When your band or you compose a song, this song’s Copyright belongs to your band members and you. The Copyright of this song does not expire until 70 years after the end of the calendar year in which the composer/writer of the work died. This song becomes your asset. Therefore, it is important to publish all the songs that you have composed. Sadly, this is something which many local bands did not do so or ignore. If you have released your album and have not published your compositions, it’s not too late to do so. Publishing your compositions is the best way to copyright and protect your works. By publishing your compositions, you will also entitle royalties when your songs are performed in gigs, played on radio, etc.
Mouse Records is a publisher-member of Composer and Author Society of Singapore since 1997. We publish works for our artists and non-artists. For composers who wish to make their works commercially available, we will assist in promoting their works to music producers, movie makers and advertising agencies.
You pay absolutely nothing for assigning us to be your publisher. In fact, you will get paid from royalties if your works are performed in public (gigs, radio, internet, etc.). Mouse Records will only share a cut from your royalties.
Can I use songs from albums released by Mouse Records for my project?
Yes, you can. But kindly seek permission from us first. Please email us with details of your project and we will get in touch with you shortly.
Will Mouse Records organise the Singapore Chinese Rock Fest again? It’s difficult for local Chinese rock bands to find a gig here.
Yes, we feel your pain. However, we have no plan for SCRF yet. Nevertheless, we would love to hear from local Chinese bands. You never know, we might revive the early 2000s era all over again.
